It only takes one little flaw to disrupt the look of your smile. Luckily, many smiles with small irregularities can be restored quickly and easily with porcelain veneers. If you’re unhappy with the shape, size, length, or color of your teeth, we can revitalize your smile with veneers in just a few weeks.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain layers or “shells” that are bonded to the front of your teeth, instantly covering any blemishes or irregularities. Porcelain is a fantastic material to use for restorations because it looks so much like your natural teeth and is highly durable, ultimately adding strength to compromised teeth.
In addition to being radiant and white, porcelain reacts to light just like the enamel on your teeth. They can be a fantastic restoration for smiles that suffer from one or more of the following conditions:
- Chipped teeth
- Broken teeth
- Worn-down teeth
- Teeth with uneven surfaces (craters or bulges)
- Crooked teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Discolored teeth – especially when they don’t respond to whitening treatments
Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and you can brush them like your regular teeth with a non-abrasive toothpaste.
A New Smile in Two Visit
You can get a sparking and flawless smile with dental veneers in just two office visits. During your first appointment, you’ll meet with our Back Mountain cosmetic dentist to determine if veneers are the ideal restoration for your unique situation.
Once you’ve decided to restore your smile with veneers, we’ll take an impression of your smile and send it to the laboratory. In 10 to 14 days, your veneer will be ready. Once your veneer has been made, Dr. Watkins will prepare your tooth by lightly buffing the front This prevents the veneer from appearing too bulky or unnatural. After your tooth has been prepared, our cosmetic dentist will use dental cement to permanently attach the veneer to your smile. Once attached, you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful, natural, and uniform looking smile.
